i'm back in the saddle again...

i've been away from the blog for a little too long. but, only because i have been out shooting and working. so, to catch up, these are from an assignment i did in wichita falls at the texoma cowboy church. the cowgirl rodeo was quit an experience. i'm in awe of the skills, courage and kindness of these cowgirls. thanks for a wonderful time.

Hans Peter Feldmann's Shadowplay at 303 Gallery

inspiration

i think i may be in love. hans peter feldmann. i like that he works with repetition and serial images. i am sucker for order, banality and documentation. thanks hil for connecting me with this brilliance.

in a lecture i once attended, the amazing & wonderful photographer keith carter proposed the notion of ten photographs you, as a photographer/artist, would have liked to have taken. it is a difficult list to comprise. really, just ten of what you as an artist consider the all-time best. try it. so, here is one of mine. taken by william eggleston, jackson, mississippi, undated.

blogging

i am now a blogger. kinda weird. one puts everything out there for all to see.
i come from the generation of diaries. all of our secrets were hidden within pages that were secured by a brass lock and skeleton key. we would have been mortified if anyone would crack that bolt and read all of our personal desires, dreams and thoughts.
but now, that is what you do. put it all out there. so, i am attempting blogging. we'll see how it goes.
